About GetVisa
Free visa information for every country a South African passport can reach, plus a paid service for when you would rather not do the paperwork alone.
What we do
GetVisa exists because visa information for South African passport holders is scattered, out of date and often written for somebody else's passport. So we built the reference we wanted: entry requirements for 197 countries, specific to South Africans, free to read and with nothing gated behind a form.
For destinations that need a visa, reading about it is the easy part. Assembling a file that a consular officer will accept is where people come unstuck, and where a refused application costs you the fee, the appointment and sometimes the trip. That is what the paid service is for.
How the service works
Your enquiry goes to an experienced visa consultant, someone who prepares these applications every week and knows what each consulate actually wants to see, as opposed to what its website says.
They review your case, tell you honestly what is involved and quote you a fee before any work begins. If it is not for you, that is the end of it. There is no charge for being quoted.
More than 22,000 applications have gone through this process. That does not make any single decision a certainty, but it does mean very little about your case will be unfamiliar.
What we will not tell you
That your visa is guaranteed. That there is a shortcut around the appointment queue. That a consultant can submit on your behalf or sit your interview for you. None of those are true, and anyone offering them is selling you something else.
What is true is that most refusals come from avoidable errors in the file, and that someone who prepares these applications every week will catch things you will not.
Common questions about the service
The visa information on this site is free and always will be. The application service is not. It is a paid professional service, quoted per application. The quote itself is free and there is no obligation to proceed.
No, and neither can anyone else. Visa centres require you to attend in person and give your own biometrics. What we do is make sure that when you walk in, your file is complete, your forms are correct and your appointment is already booked.
No. Any service that guarantees a visa is not being straight with you. The decision belongs to the consulate alone. What we change is the quality and completeness of what you put in front of them, which is the part that is actually within anyone’s control.
An experienced visa consultant who works with South African travellers full time and prepares these applications daily. Not a call centre, and not a different person each time you make contact.
It is used to assess your case and prepare your quote, and it is shared only with the consultant handling your application. It is never sold or rented. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.
