What the application involves
The online UKVI application
The form is long and asks for travel history, employment, finances and family circumstances. Answers that contradict your documents are one of the most common causes of trouble, so we complete it with you and check it line by line before submission.
Your financial evidence
UKVI wants to see that the money in your account is genuinely yours and genuinely available. Statements showing a large deposit shortly before applying, with nothing to explain it, invite refusal. We look at what your statements actually show and advise on what to include.
The biometrics appointment
You attend a VFS Global centre in person to give fingerprints and a photograph. We identify and book the slot for you. Appointments in Johannesburg and Cape Town can be scarce in peak season, which is the usual reason a trip slips.
Your passport and the decision
Your passport stays with the visa centre while the application is processed, so do not book onward travel that needs it. We stay with the case until the decision comes back.
